Freedom United has a small team of 8 staff across the US and UK, and mobilises its supporters in close partnership with organisations and experts in the field to build strong and effective online global campaigns, increase knowledge and awareness of modern slavery and strengthen the capacity of anti-slavery organisations through fundraising. The Advocacy Assistant reports to the Senior Advocacy Officer and will provide administrative assistance to the Advocacy Team with the implementation of global campaigns on a broad range of modern slavery issues. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team focused on using the latest in digital campaigning to build a strong basis of committed activists while building knowledge and contacts in the anti-slavery field through working with partners around the world. In addition, as Freedom United expands, there is potential for growth within the organization. Location : remote, with weekly in-person meetings in central London Time : Full-time to start as soon as possible Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and answering supporter emails
  • Monitoring news stories and desk-based research
  • Partner and campaign-related data management
  • Using digital tool to build campaign materials
  • Assisting with the production of social media content
  • Assisting the Senior Advocacy Officer and Advocacy Director and occasional general administration

Desired Skills and Expertise:

  • 1-3 years’ work experience (including internships and volunteering)
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and works well independently under own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident with digital systems
  • A flexible, proactive, can do approach
  • Values that align with Freedom United’s mission
  • An interest in anti-trafficking, forced labour and child rights
  • Pursuing or obtained Graduate degree in relevant field
