Social Media Officer
We are looking for a bold and creative individual to join our expanding Digital Communications team. Join one of the most exciting charities in the UK and help us take our social media strategy and content to new and interesting places. If you share our values and believe that children’s lives should not be torn apart by war, we want to hear from you. About us War Child is the charity for children affected by war. We are the only specialist charity for children in conflict, delivering high-impact programmes that are rebuilding lives across Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Central African Republic and Yemen. We understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of the solution - from supporting Syrian children to access education, to reintegrating child soldiers in the Central African Republic and upholding the rights of children caught up in juvenile justice in Afghanistan. We look forward to a world in which the lives of children are no longer torn apart by war. This is a vision that can only be realised through the collective actions of children themselves, communities and their leaders, organisations like War Child, governments and key decision makers. The role You can strategically identify, and post, engaging content for our social media feeds which will inspire people to support our work protecting children in war. You will interact with our communities on these platforms to increase engagement, followers and the quality of their experience. You will identify key influencers and conversations where we can engage to better showcase our work and expand our reach. You’re a bit of a data geek who loves reading insights and analytics data and using it to influence social media communications strategies and organisational direction. You love social media. You don’t think it’s bad for our health. You are one of those people who struggles to tear themselves away from Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. You are convinced that social media can be a powerful force for good. If that sounds like you – then we want to hear from you.
