Student Minds

Student Minds is the UK’s student mental health charity. Since 2008 we’ve worked with students, professionals and academics to develop new and innovative ways to improve the health of students at over 100 universities. At the heart of everything we do is a student - led movement of energetic and enthusiastic young people who are campaigning to create change on their campuses and in their local communities. We believe that students are key to changing opinions about mental health in universities and know the best ways to engage students in health promotion on their campuses. As a charity we bring learning from across all of our work to equip students with the knowledge, confidence and skills to raise mental health literacy, normalise help-seeking and the importance of us all taking care of our wellbeing, and decrease stigmatising attitudes. We campaign both on campus and online; our 20 student - led campaign groups are provided with training and support to deliver over 100 events every year, various Students’ Unions’ and organisations utilise our campaign toolkits, and our national campaign University Mental Health Day has a digital reach of over 17 million. Through campaigning we’ve reached thousands of students and have collectively encouraged the sector to prioritise the health and wellbeing of university students, but we know that there is much more potential for us to expand and amplify this movement.
