We’re looking for freelance copywriters Summary Forward Action is looking for freelance copywriters to support our creative team during busy periods. If you’re an experienced writer who can craft compelling copy that inspires people to take action, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll also need to understand online journeys, be happy taking in edits and feedback, and have a passion for making the world a better place. You can work remotely from anywhere within GMT +/-2 as well as in our office in East London. Who we are Forward Action is a full service digital agency for progressive causes. We work with clients from campaign conception through to results, creating strategies, content and tools to get the job done. Our clients are some of the most exciting and impactful organisations in campaigning, including Greenpeace, The Labour Party, Amnesty International, ONE, WaterAid, and SumOfUs. The Forward Action team is open, inclusive, friendly and respectful. We hope you’d enjoy working with us.  The work you’ll do You’ll draft copy for our clients’ online campaigns, including emails, Facebook ads, action pages, social media posts, blogs, surveys and the growth-focused microsites Forward Action is well known for (like this one). If you have experience of setting up Facebook ads and Google Adwords campaigns, designing supporter journeys or building emails, we’re also keen to hear about it. Time required Right now, we’re not recruiting for any specific projects but building a pool of freelance copywriters we can call on when needed. Depending on the demands of our projects, we could be looking to book you for anything from the occasional day to a few days a week on an ongoing basis. You can work remotely from anywhere within GMT +/-2 as well as in our office in East London. Abilities and experience  Above all, we’re looking for writers who can quickly get to grips with a brief and produce engaging copy that brings issues alive, clearly communicates key campaign messages and drives action. To be successful, it’s likely you’ll also have the following skills and experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience working in digital campaigning and/or digital fundraising
  • Great copywriting and communication skills
  • Understanding of what motivates people to take action online
  • Ability to work well to a brief and incorporate edits and feedback
  • Enthusiasm for thinking creatively and coming up with new ideas
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm for using the internet to help build a fairer, more progressive world
