If you believe you can help us to trigger change on a national scale, we want to hear from you. The Role As Head of Modern Slavery Policy Unit, you will oversee the Justice and Care and CSJ joint policy unit, delivering a high-profile policy and advocacy programme to combat modern slavery in the UK. In this important role, you will launch and support initiatives to embed modern slavery into the mainstream political discussion and create a strategy for modern slavery policy implementation, including legal reform and campaigns. Reporting to the CSJ Policy Director and CEOs within both organisations, you will: - Recruit and build a team to support the success of the joint policy unit - Oversee the work of Policy Researchers - Engage with high-level politicians and influencers to ensure modern slavery remains a focal point - Strategically engage with the media to increase coverage of our research, including writing press releases and giving interviews - Write briefs and speeches for parliamentarians - Support fundraising efforts for the unit About You To join us as our Head of Modern Slavery Policy Unit, you will need: - Previous political engagement experience - Excellent knowledge of the modern slavery issue, with experience of working in this field - Experience of implementing policy (and preferably legal) reform - A successful track record of dealing with key influencers from other organisations - Experience of engaging with policy experts Other organisations may call this role Senior Anti-Modern Slavery Advocacy Manager, Head of Policy, Head of Campaigns, Head of Social Justice Campaigns, Senior Policy Advisor, Social Justice Campaign Manager, Senior Campaign & Advocacy Manager or Head of Engagement. Those with experience in Political Engagement, Policy Reform, Legal Reform or combatting Modern Slavery are also encouraged to apply. Webrecruit and Justice and Care are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
