Lead Campaigner - Policy Engagement
ABOUT US The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. THE ROLE The Woodland Trust Campaigning function unites and enables the public to make a real difference for woods and trees through getting directly involved, - by helping to protect woodlands and trees which are at risk by helping to influence bigger public policy decisions through joining campaign actions. The role will work closely with colleagues in the conservation policy, external affairs and communications teams to develop campaigns that are based on our organisational positions and public policy goals and engage our key target audiences, allies and stakeholders externally. Our campaigns often have to demonstrate public support to influence decision makers THE CANDIDATE With experience of campaigning and a track record of success you’ll have a sound understanding of campaigning processes and an understanding of planning laws, preferably including public inquiry processes. You’ll be expected to lead volunteers so you’ll need to have experience working with and leading volunteer to deliver high impact work as professional representatives, You’ll have excellent project management skills and experience working with different types of media, along with the ability to inspiring and empowering direct reports, peers, volunteers and the public alike to deliver on behalf of the Trust WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust.
