Oversight of all consultancy business & high-level delivery – 40%

  • Oversight and ultimate accountability of work being committed to being within capacity, expertise, and budget.
  • Ensuring that all business instruments are used effectively to track and management work flow.
  • Ensuring work being delivered is of high quality.
  • Oversight of the consultancy team and skills management, including recruitment, and skill development.
  • Ensure that all processes inside the consultancy team are fit for purpose and being followed by the team.
  • Delivery of high-value or high potential consultancy projects.

Product and Business Development – 35%

  • Shared responsibility with the CEO to ensure that income targets are met. Including updating/developing the business development strategy.
  • Working with the Marketing Manager on supporting the pipeline including lead development and management, monitoring and seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Developing the approach (with support from the consultancy team), budgets, and timelines for new business. Including writing and proposals and pitching for new business.
  • Act as spokesperson for the organisation to spread the word about our work and tap into our networks to shout about our work and how we can help them to achieve our goals.
  • Supporting the Head of Practice on opportunities to extend contracts with current clients or encourage repeat business.

Contribution to the strategic direction of the business – 10%

  • Participate and contribute to the strategic development and oversight of the business as a whole with the senior management team, bringing your insight from the delivery of consultancy, client needs, and trends in the market that contribute.
  • Support the strategy development process – Away days, SMTs, budget, policies, monitoring tools and insights and other items as necessary.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports to the Board of Directors and attend board meetings.
  • Report back to the wider senior management team on the delivery against business development targets and develop solutions to emerging risks and ideas for exploring new opportunities.

Team & business management – 10%

  • Line management of the Head of Practice. This includes pastoral care, time management, and professional development. You will also ensure that they are fulfilling their line management responsibilities.
  • Work with the Head of Practice and SMT to manage capacity and resources effectively.
  • Keep all the planning tools and instruments up to date to inform business planning and budgeting.

Internal Business Practices & Team Support – 5%

  • Identify and make recommendations to improve work processes as applicable.
  • Support with internal activities and support the development of the wider team that contribute to The Social Change Agency’s overall mission and strategy.
  • Provide support as required to the administration of the business.
  • Participate in team-building exercises.
