They will supervise smooth management of written content on the ONE.org website, microsites and other channels. They will have an excellent understanding of social media management and appreciate the types of content that inspire online audiences to engage, share and take action. The ideal candidate will be an experienced content manager who possess a strong editorial compass and is highly organized with an ability to plan effectively They will be passionate about content and its ability to connect with audiences and be familiar with content in different digital formats ranging from web pages, video and social media assets. This is a full-time opportunity reporting directly to the Digital Engagement Director and based in our Washington DC office.   IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Own and manage the digital editorial calendar and supervise publishing across ONE’s digital channels.
  • Work closely with the wider team to build and execute an effective content strategy that increases views, engagement and brand affinity.
  • Lead the creation of compelling creative content that engages visitors.
  • Work with the Global Communications team to manage ONE’s tone of voice and collaborate on content development across digital channels.
  • Work with Campaigns team to develop engaging content to support our national and global campaigns
  • Commission content from ONE’s global teams, external freelancers and partners.
  • Determine deadlines and manage editorial and production/approval schedules to ensure on-time delivery of content.
  • Ensure editorial oversight across ONE’s digital channels, managing risk and elevating issues to senior leadership as required.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a community management strategy for ONE’s channels.
  • Help maintain and develop relationships with key digital platforms.
  • Manage the DC based Digital Coordinator.
  • Manage temporary staff and contractors as needed.
  • Train or mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Manage relationships with third party content providers and partners.
  • Lead the development and implementation of ONE’s SEO strategy.
  • Publish content using ONE’s WordPress CMS and Social platforms.
  • Develop and manage internal relationships with other ONE teams who provide content, and help maintaining high content standards.
  • Recommend solutions/best practices and solve complex problems.
  • Work with Analytics team to analyze content performance across digital channels and make recommendations to improve engagement.
  • Be responsible for managing expenditures within the approved budget, researching projected costs for departmental activities and ensuring proper approvals have been obtained for business expenditures.
  • Additional duties as determined.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of digital content production experience.
  • Experience of managing complex editorial calendars spanning multiple channels, campaigns and markets.
  • Excellent digital writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of digital and social media landscape.
  • Excellent experience of managing external relationships with content partners, agencies and other organizations.
  • Interest in other digital formats including images and video content.
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO.
  • Experience of publishing using content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Experience of Facebook Business Manager and social media publishing platforms such as Hootsuite
  • Experience of digital analytical tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Experience of online crisis management managing organizational risk
  • Demonstrated entry-level management experience or potential for leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities under tight deadlines while performing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Experience of supporting global teams to create content for national and regional audiences
  • Related work history in poverty and infectious disease alleviation, advocacy, policy, legislation and/or demonstrable interest in the causes ONE supports
  • Travel up to 10% international and/or domestic.
  • Ability to work and live in the United States is required

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluency in English required.  Fluency in other languages such as French or German highly desired. TRAVEL:Travel up to 10% international and/or domestic.
